The Press

There are more and more 'gay' lifestyle magazines and websites popping up all over the place... so out of the goodness of our heart, we have provided a quick reference guide to wots hot and wots not! As well, of course, provided links to a whole bunch of groovy places for you to visit.

The 'Zines
There are a number of free papers that are available to the pink nation, these generally deal with many of the political issues going on in the UK - however there's always the exception to the rule. The glossy's are reasonably priced and can prove to be a good source of gay gossip! Here is our review of the top few:

Pink Paper
Probably the most famous gay press, tried to charge for it's on the ball gay journalism and political stand points, but soon shifted back to a freebie - we wonder why?
Available from the UnionShop, WHSmith, Swallow and In-Other-Words weekly.

Pink Voice
Filling a gap in the market when the PinkPaper went pay-as-you-go, it did well to add a bit of life and spark to whats happening in the UK gay community - it's amazing what a tvguide and fresh perspective can do!
Available from In-Other-Words weekly.

Boyz
This freebie is always cheary and pretty much leaves the politics to it's sisters. With poppy interviews, horoscopes, tvguide and of course the backroom boy it's a sure fire hit with us.
Available from the Swallow, Zeros and In-Other-Words weekly.

Fluid
Yummy, this glossy isn't too heavy - a gentle read that is easy on the eyes and also the brain! With the latest fashions, gizmos and celeb interviews it's a good'n for the long trips home.
Available from the UnionShop, WHSmiths and In-Other-Words £2.50 monthly.

Attitude
Certainly one of the bigboys, it cuts to the chase and gets some of the top named interviews - but you have to read them with a plum in you mouth. Apart from that, not a bad read actually.
Available from In-Other-Words and WHSmith £2.75 monthly.

Diva
Diva covers lesbian life and style including arts reviews, news, short fiction, features, fashion, parenting and the popular 'around the kitchen table' advice and support pages.!
Available from the UnionShop, WHSmiths and In-Other-Words £2.25 monthly.

Go To Diva....

Go to Gay Times...

Gay Times
One of the first and most traditional 'zines - yet still up there at the cutting edge. A mix of interviews, culture and gay politics - well if you like it... fair play to ya!
Available from In-Other-Words and WHSmiths £2.95 monthly.

The Sites
Not every 'Friend of Dorothy' thinks that WWW is short for the Wicked Witch of the West, now we're in the computer age we have a whole plethora (oooO-Bigword!) of information at our fingertips. Included here are a few of the 'suitable' sites that any self respecting young homosexual in Plymouth should be aware of. It is also a good start if just want a good bitch - as there doesn't seem to be any shortage of sarcasm in most of these sites:
